Situated in pleasant residential area of Lisburn; founded in 1880 by a bequest from the estate of Sir Richard Wallace, local landowner and MP; board of trustees took charge in 1900. New building on new site in extensive grounds in 1976. Strong pastoral system; wide range of extra-curricular activities, including many clubs and societies. Pupil involvement encouraged in music, drama and debating; team success at rugby, hockey, tennis, athletics, badminton, netball and cricket. School trips and visits; community service. Strong home-school partnerships; active parent-teacher association; Old Girls' Association. Over-subscribed, with 1.3 applications per place.
