Opened in 1970, the school is set in extensive grounds with separate hard surface playgrounds for younger and older pupils. It is housed in a two-storey building with 16 'bright and attractive' classrooms, full-equipped hall, library and TV room. It offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities including athletics, choir, cycling proficiency, football, hockey, mini-rugby, netball, tennis and Tufty Club. The school is regularly the Antrim area champions in many sports, and participates in the Youth Sport and Phoenix Sport initiatives. It maintains community links with churches, the local library, other schools, industry, day centre and council.
