Background:
Founded in 1971 at the height of industrial expansion in Antrim, the school consists of two main wings joined by a large assembly hall with adjoining dining facilities. The school offers 16 permanent classrooms with ancillary rooms and there are plans to extend the building to include a purpose-built structured play area. The school also enjoys the benefits of an extensive site encompassing a nature area for science study, two playgrounds and a playing field for football and athletics. The school's football, rugby, hockey, swimming and kwik cricket teams compete locally. Its large choir has found fame in the community and participates in local events. Pupils regularly raise funds for a diverse range of local and national charities. A strong parent-teacher association contributes generously to the school and its most recent project has been the creation of the millennium learning centre. .
