Background:
Mount St Michael's Primary School opened on its present site in 1893. It has grown from two rooms into a large building incorporating 15 classrooms, library, gymnasium and a dining hall. A nursery unit providing 52 part-time places opened in September 2000. The school provides extra-curricular activities such as athletics, camogie, Gaelic football, hurling, soccer, drama, choir, choral speaking and traditional music group. Children have the opportunity to take part in stage productions, drama festivals, swimming galas, sporting competitions and quizzes. The school is involved in a whole school cross community project with Randalstown Central P.S and promotes various charities including action M.S and Christian Shoebox Appeal. The school aims to provide caring community focused on each child and committed to their individual good academically, emotionally, spiritually and physically. .
